Joey might not have the finish that he was looking for following the Toyota 350 at Infineon Raceway on Sunday, but the experienced he gained is something he’ll take with him. Joey ran in the top-five all race long, but after contact with Scott Speed, he had to come in and fix a tire rub, which put him at the tail of the field. Joey was able to come back from 38th to finish 19th when the checkers fell.

Matt: Alot of effort went into it, you came out here and did a driving school two seater, and you end with a 19th place finish, all in a good start to your road course history here?

Joey Logano: Yeah, it goes to show you what Zippy told me in the beginning of the races, one mistake and that’s all it takes, and we positioned ourselves, you know we had a good pit strategy, right where we needed to be for a top 5-10 finish, and one mistake you knock a fender and you get a fender rub, and then you pay for it the rest of the day, it’s just track position is so hard around here, but I tell you what it was an exciting race and the end of the thing, I was sitting there before there green white checked, and I am sitting back there, double file restarts going up the hill, and I am like, there’s going to be some torn up cars here and there is, if you look around here, I don’t think there is one car with out a mark on it.
