The Home Depot Team Notes of Interest
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) this weekend for the Sylvania 300. The Home Depot Team and Joey Logano have three top-10 finishes in their starts together including the victory in 2009 and a top-five effort in July. The Home Depot Team stuck to its game plan in July at NHMS, and the strategy paid off for the No. 20 Team. Crew chief Greg Zipadelli’s call to bring Joey Logano into the pits while running second with 74 laps to go for right-side tires and fuel proved to be a great decision as Logano finished the 301-lap race in the fourth position.- Logano now sits 21st in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver standings following his 16th-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway. He is six points away from getting back inside the top 20.
- Two chances to meet Logano and Zipadelli! Logano and his crew chief Greg Zipadelli will make two appearances on Thursday, Sept. 22. Logano and Zipadelli will head to Gillette Stadium and Patriots Place in Foxboro, Mass. to tour the stadium and head to the field during the New England Patriot’s practice session. The pair will then head over to CBS Scene Restaurant at Patriots Place for a question and answer session and an autograph signing with fans. The fan event will begin at 2 p.m. ET and will also include chances to win tickets to the NHMS race as well as other give-a-ways.
- Following their professional football adventure they will head to The Home Depot store in Tilton, N.H. The store is located at 160 Laconia Rd. The appearance will take place from 6 – 7:30 p.m. ET. The No. 20 Home Depot Toyota will be there in addition to the autograph signing by New England-natives Logano and Zipadelli. Wristbands will be distributed starting at 5:00 p.m. to the first 700 fans.
- Logano and Zipadelli About the last race: Logano and The Home Depot Team were set to compete on Sunday in the Geico 400 at Chicagoland Speedway, but rain postponed the event until Monday. Logano battled the handling through the midpoint of the race, and the final results came down to fuel mileage. Several cars ran out of gas over the closing laps, but Logano crossed the stripe with the engine running in the 16th position.
- Zipadelli and the No. 20 Home Depot Team are bringing chassis #314 this weekend which is the same chassis Logano finished fourth with at Loudon two months ago. It is the only time the chassis has run this season. The back-up chassis is #303 which has served as the back-up several times this already this season.
- The Home Depot Toyota will continue to honor The Celebration of Service, a partnership between The Home Depot Foundation and the Mission Continues to improve the homes and lives of veterans and their families, during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races until Nov. 11 (Veterans Day). The goal of Celebration of Service is to complete more than 200 projects during the two month time frame to “Serve Those Who Served Us All.” The rear quarter panel of the No. 20 car will carry a special Celebration of Service decal while the crew members will have patches on their uniforms and wear hats showcasing the unique partnership. Fans can show their support by purchasing a 3 Doors Down CD from www.homedepot.com with $1 of the sale going directly to the veterans’ housing initiatives or purchasing a specially-themed Home Depot gift card with 5 percent of the value placed on the card going to nonprofit organizations also serving the housing needs of veterans.
