The Home Depot Team Notes of Interest

• The familiar orange and white Home Depot colors are back on the No. 20 car this weekend after a one-week hiatus in time for the showdown at Texas. Joey Logano and The Home Depot Team return to Texas Motor Speedway for Logano’s seventh start at the 1.5-mile track. In the November race last year, Logano had a career-best race at the Texas track by leading laps on six different occasions before earning a fourth-place finish. Looking for similar success in April, Logano qualified in the top 10 but was hit on pit road by the No. 00 car causing damage to the steering and finished 24th.
• Meet Logano! Logano will be at The Home Depot store in White Settlement, Texas, on Thursday signing autographs for fans from 6 – 7:30 p.m. The store is located at 9509 White Settlement Rd. In addition to the signing, the No. 20 Toyota Camry will be there as well. Wristbands will be distributed one hour before the appearance begins to the first 700 fans. This is one of the final two Home Depot store appearances for Logano this season. He will be at the Hollywood, Fla., store on Nov. 17.
• About the last race: Logano and the team had a typical short-track day at Martinsville Speedway last weekend. After qualifying was rained out, Logano started from the 22nd position but smacked the wall after being hit by the No. 88 car. The team repaired the car and eventually got back on the lead lap. The No. 20 Toyota Camry restarted for the final green flag in the top 10, but contact and a flat tire dropped him back to 18th when the checkered flag fell.
• Crew chief Greg Zipadelli and the No. 20 Home Depot Team are bringing chassis #331 for the AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. This is a new chassis for Zipadeli and the Joe Gibbs Racing Team. The back-up chassis is #319 which most recently raced at Dover on Oct. 2. Logano first ran this chassis at Pocono where he captured the pole and ran in the top 10 most of the day before a cut tire with 12 laps to go dropped him to 26th place.
• Logano sits 23rd in the NASCAR Sprint Cup driver point standings with three races remaining on the 2011 schedule. He is five points behind Jeff Burton in 22nd heading into the Texas race weekend.
• The Home Depot Toyota will honor The Celebration of Service, a partnership between The Home Depot Foundation and the Mission Continues to improve the homes and lives of veterans and their families, for the final NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race this weekend. The goal of Celebration of Service is to complete more than 200 projects during the two month time frame to “Serve Those Who Served Us All.” The rear quarter panel of the No. 20 car will carry a special Celebration of Service decal while the crew members will have patches on their uniforms and wear hats showcasing the unique partnership.
