Joey Logano started from the 18th position today in the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at the Glen, and finished in the 33rd position two laps down to the race Winner Juan Pablo Montoya. The team went a lap down when they had to come in to fix a broken oil line. With the 33rd place finish at the Watkins Glen International Logano is now 21st in the point standings, and 248 points away from 12th place.

Pre-Qualifying Comments

Mike: Joey great qualifying run on the Nationwide side, what are you expecting here?

Joey Logano: Well see, Home Depot Toyota is pretty good, but in qualifying trim it was alright. So, hopefully I hit my marks right, and I everything I need to do, and I think we’ll be decent. So well see, we had a really good run with the Nationwide car so, hopefully I can do the same thing, and have something close to the front here, and so that we can work with tomorrow.

Mike: How would you assess your road course racing skills?

Joey Logano: So-so right now, I feel like, the more races I get under my belt, the more I realize what you gotta do at these places, it definitely helps you know, whether you gotta be smooth or whatever you gotta do out there, it’s finding that and making it all work, and trying to find speed out there at the same time, so and that’s only half the battle you gotta figure out how to race these places and stuff like that. So, we’re getting there, I feel like everything I come to a place where we are getting a little bit closer, road course wise, stuff like that. So, confidence is definitely up after the last qualifying run there in the nationwide car, hopefully I can keep it up after this one.
