The Home Depot Team Notes of Interest

• It’s the second and final road course race of the season for The Home Depot Team and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Joey Logano will make his third career Sprint Cup Series start at Watkins Glen International on Sunday and is looking for his first top-10 finish at the New York track. Logano tested at Road Atlanta last week with the team along with driver Max Papis in preparation for this weekend, the same thing they did prior to the race at Infineon Raceway in June. Logano captured the pole at Infineon and earned his first top-10 finish at the track.
• In addition to the Sprint Cup race this weekend, Logano will drive in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race and the NASCAR Rolex Grand Am Series race on Saturday. He will pilot the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota in the Nationwide race, and the No. 31 GT entry with co-driver Boris Said in the Rolex race on Saturday.
• Logano currently sits 20th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver point standings following his 26th-place finish at Pocono Raceway last weekend. He is now eight points out of 19th and 19 points out of the top 15.
• Meet Logano! Logano will make an appearance on Thursday, August 11 at the Johnson City, N.Y. Home Depot store. Logano will be at the store signing autographs for fans from 6 – 7:30 p.m. The store is located at 798 Main St. The No. 20 Home Depot Toyota will be there in addition to the autograph signing by Logano. Wristbands will be distributed starting at 5 p.m. to the first 700 fans.

• About the last weekend: The 500-mile race at Pocono Raceway was filled with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows for The Home Depot Team. Logano started from the pole, was leading when rain halted the race after the halfway mark and was running sixth with 15 laps to go. Unfortunately, he ran over something in the closing laps that cut the right-rear tire and he was forced to pit under green-flag conditions. The late-race issue dropped him from a likely top-10 finish back to 26th place when the checkered flag waved.
• Crew Chief Greg Zipadelli and the No. 20 Home Depot Team are taking chassis #306 to Watkins Glen this weekend. Logano drove this chassis for the first time at Infineon Raceway in June. He started from the pole and earned his first top 10 at a road course in his three-year Sprint Cup career. The back-up chassis is #234 that Logano drove at Watkins Glen and Sonoma last season.
• Welcome aboard The Home Depot associates from store #8431 from Round Lake Beach, Ill. The store number will ride along with Logano this weekend in the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen.
