Post Race Interview:
Jamie Little: It is official at 19 years old, he has become NASCAR’s youngest Rookie of the year ever, here is your hat your official Joey you end up 20th in points. Sum up this year from start to finish what its been like.
Joey Logano: A roller coaster ride to be honest with you, you know obvious we had a real tough start with the Home Depot Toyota, you know just in the first eight, nine-ten races. We were struggling most of the media trying to figure out what was going on and I feel like we made big steps towards the right direction to get better, and better, you know got it in the top 20 in points. If you had told me that at the beginning of the season, I would of been yeah right this isn’t going to happen. But to get it up there it was really cool, we feel like we got a little bit of ways to go, well work hard during the off season here and try to make it better but you know overall its cool that we have the Raybestos Rookie of the Year you know and I gotta thank The Home Depot for sticking behind me you know and the rookie season that was real neat to have their support.
Jamie Little: They certainly believed in you and so did your crew chief Greg Zipadelli he said you’re a quick study, but I understand he also gives you homework during the week. What is that all about and how much did it help you?
Joey Logano: Yeah I mean, I try to do as much as I can, you know especially you know i mean in the beginning part of the season, what can I get that I can study up on, what can I do to make myself a better race car driver. And you know it is just whatever I can find, notes from last season when you know when Tony was driving you know as much stuff as I can figure out you know, that’s what I need to do so, as far as watching the races, racing on the simulator everything I can do, you know it’s what I need to do and I feel like that’s helped me out alot this season you know Mike McLaughlin who’s kinda of like my mentor, traveling around with me, and helping me out so, I’ve had alot of help this year, I gotta thank all those guys, I gotta thank my team, you know they did an awesome job this year and you know I guess I am excited its over, we got done what we needed to do, and you know well work hard and go next season.
