Pre-Qualifying Interview

Dave Burns: Standing by, contemplating what is about to happen here in qualifying Joey what is about to happen here with you and the 20 car?

Joey Logano: Hopefully put this thing on the pole, well see, I got a pretty good Home Depot Toyota here, it’s just going to be really close, the field is going to be really close, it was in practice so, hopefully no mistakes and hit everything just right, maybe hit some cloud coverage just right and lay down a good lap with this thing.

Pre-Race Comments:

Wendy Venturini: Now we’ve talked alot about guys fight for that chase, and alot of stress, alot of pressure, one of the guys that doesn’t have too much pressure Joey Logano, you are going to go out there, gain some points, go for a win, you don’t have as much at stake as some of those other guys out there you are competing against.

Joey Logano: Yeah pretty much, I guess it’s actually not a good thing now that I think of it that way, but you know well just go out there with our normal deal, you know go out there and try to get as much points as we can try to keep this thing in the top 20 and hopefully, come out there with the checkered flag, hopefully well see what we can do you know this race is going to be unpredictable for sure so, I think alot of things are going to change threw-out the race, so well see what we can do with the home depot Toyota tonight.

Wendy Venturini: To jog all the memories race fan’s this was the race one year ago that you were suppose to make your cup debut it got rained out, you had to make your sprint cup start the next week, here we are a year later full circle you’ve done so much, you’re 19th in points, what do you reflect on, and I am thinking you can get top 15 in points by the end of the season.

Joey Logano: I hope so well see it’s crazy to think about how much has changed in one year, you know one year it goes like you said, I was just trying to make my first start here, and one thing that hasn’t changed is its still wet, so.. but looks like we are going to go racing, it’s just barely misting so it’s about to stop and well get out there and have some fun tonight.
