Budweiser Shootout Format
There were a total of 2 Segments in the Budweiser Shootout. The first segment consists of 25 laps, followed by a 10 minute intermission, where minor adjustments can be made on the car. The second segment will be for a total of 50 laps, followed by a 10 lap sprint to the finish, where the race must finish under green, and the caution laps will count.
The total available winnings, will be a total of $1,217,154!

Budweiser Shootout Qualifying Result
Unlike normal races, the driver’s do not attempt to qualify for the Budweiser Shootout, but rather there starting position is determined by their selection of a Budweiser Beer Bottle. Joey Logano was hoping to gain invaluable experience in The Shootout at Daytona on Saturday night after a second-place run in the ARCA RE/MAX race just hours earlier. Logano missed the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers meeting due to the caution-plagued race and was forced to start in the back for The Shootout. Unfortunately a multi-car incident broke out mid pack on lap four collecting Logano and the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota. The car was damaged beyond repair and Logano was scored in the 28th position. Kevin Harvick took the checkered flag for The Shootout at Daytona.

“It’s just what are you suppose to do you know, you’re kinda of nowhere to go in that situation, no I didn’t learn much at all, you know out five, six laps into it, we tried hard though, I just gotta thank everyone at the home depot people.”
