Joey Logano started from the 19th position today in the AAA 400. Logano would make his way through the field, and by lap 164 crack the top 10. He would continue to make progress, and on lap 213, take over the 3rd position. For most of the race Logano would stay in the top five, and at the end of it all was highest finishing Joe Gibbs Racing driver. Logano finished 3rd, his best finishing position at the Dover International Speedway in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Dr. Jerry Punch: Career high 4th top 5 finish for Joey today and Joey I was listening on the radio you were battling about everything you could battle with a race car, loose, push, turbulence on the car, wouldn’t turn here but Zippy and the guys did a heck of a job. How was the day from inside the car?

Joey Logano: Yeah I think that’s typical stuff we battle every weekend but, you know we started towards the back thanks to me in qualifying and you know the guys did a really good job getting my car good in practice and had a really good car in happy hour and just battle along all day and I got the Home Depot Toyota really good you know just a little bit tight here, little bit loose there just playing around with it and our car was good I don’t know if it was good enough to win but I felt like we were close. I am excited about that, I wanna thank Home Depot Toyota all those guys, definitely a good run for us we still gotta work on our consistency you know we wrecked last week, we finished 3rd this week so we gotta somehow figure out how we can do this week in and week out.
