Shannon Spake: Well down here with the winning crew chief Dave Rogers, a little bit of nerves over the radio Dave, did you maybe doubt the decision not to come down and get tires?

Dave Rogers: Yeah that was tough, I think we’d get hung out by the whole field there, but man Joey dug down deep, I knew our race car was really good this GameStop Toyota was fast all day and my driver is on the wheel right now, so, yeah I am ready to go to the bathroom and throw up. Man, I want to thank the good lord, I was thinking I was going to look like a fool out there and he took care of me and the rest of this Toyota race team so, I am very thankful thank you.

Shannon Spake: How much does this win, mean to you guys, this is the first win Joey has gotten at a companion race.

Dave Rogers: I didn’t think about that, yeah this is the first place that Joey’s won that he hasn’t tested alot at, so every win means alot to us so very excited, thanks to Doug Hewitt and all the guys back at the shop for preparing these, fast race cars, Reggie tucker, that’s an awesome body, everyone back at Joe Gibbs Racing thank you.

Victory Lane Interview

Dave Burns: And now Joey freely handing out the high fives to a crew who obviously did a great job today, preparing this car, and getting you on and off pit road, but talk about the end of this race, when your crew chief made an interesting decision for you.

Joey Logano: Yeah we, thought we got beat there at the end, everyone pitted there but us and the 38 so, we were thinking the old GameStop Toyota was going to come home with a second at least, so the clean air was big, I tell ya this is the same car we won Kentucky with, this thing is just that good, and it’s awesome to be racing with these guys, I gotta thank GameStop Wii Sports Resorts, thank the fans, Coca Cola, SportClips everyone this was an awesome victory I tell ya, this is cool man, I just love this car.

Dave Burns: Before your car came up to speed, you had to hold him off, down the back stretch and really make it wide.

Joey Logano: Yeah that’s for sure, you know the last restart I got beat and the restarts too, I don’t know why, you know the final one, the 38 was able to hang with me, just drove it into 3 as hard as I can, hope for the best and you know once we kinda of got a big enough gap, you know Kyle got in the dirty air, we were able to pull away pretty cool so, I was really surprised I thought… Dave thought we were done, I was like were not done yet, were not done yet, but you know deep down inside I really thought I was but, that’s just awesome for these guys, we come up second a few times so it’s cool we get a win.

Dave Burns: Joey, there’s an old saying, don’t believe your own press but, alot of people will look at this race, and say you not only won, but you beat Kyle Busch, he is very good, he is your team mate what does it mean to beat him?

Joey Logano: It’s awesome! If you look at everyone of my victories, it’s been a 1-2 finish, between me and Kyle so, that’s pretty neat and even you know the last race, New Hampshire we finished first and second 1-2, so that’s awesome for Joe Gibbs Racing.
