The day started off with a bang for year 18 year old Joey Logano, as he qualified his number 20 EA Sports NASCAR 09 / GameStop Toyota Camry in the front row, and more specifically on the pole! Joey took the pole with a time of 30.003 and a speed of 159.944 edging out nation wide regular Brad Keselowski by a margin of .124 seconds. The highest qualifying sprint cup driver was Clint Bowyer, who qualified in the fourth position, and was .164 seconds behind Joey Logano’s pole position time.

As the green flag dropped Logano quickly went out to set the world on fire, as he was untouchable early on in the race, and was able to lead 64 laps.

During a caution Joey Logano came in to get four fresh tires, while some of the guys gambled on staying out, and others gambled on getting 2 tires. This would place Joey Logano from leading the race, to mid pack. However, luck would not be on the side of Joey, as he would wind up victim of an incident on lap 89 on turn 4. He was clipped by Greg Biffle, the accident was not of Joey’s doing, but was just an incident by stander of hard racing in front of him.

Joey was the favorite to win, as he led early on, and was looking very strong. He went to the garage for repairs, and eventually came out to score some points for the car, but in the end Logano brought his wounded car to a 31st place finish.

On to Kentucky, its just a matter of time before Joey gets his first win!
