Nationwide Owner Points

Going into Homestead Miami, the car Joey Logano drives, the #20 owned by Joe Gibbs racing, led the #2 driven by Clint Bowyer by a total of 28 points. With Joey Logano’s 10th place finish, and Clint Bowyer’s fifth place finish. Joey was able to win the owner’s championship for Joe Gibbs racing by a total of 12 points.

Joey Logano’s Post Race Comments

Question: “You have earned Joe Gibbs Racing their very first championship in the nationwide series, I gotta ask you, What has the pressure been like this past week knowing what you had to do here this weekend.”

Joey Logano’s Answer: It was alot of pressure, obviously, but you know getting the pole earlier was a big plus and leading those laps in the beginning. It made me think we had a really good DLP Toyota and long runs we just weren’t there, and we tried to adjust it. But this is awesome for this whole 20 bunch to win this championship, that is such a big deal. Going threw the thick and thin with these guys, and with Denny, Tony, and Kyle were driving the car running up front and winning the races, it helps out alot. So it’s cool for these guys, I gotta thank Gamestop Toyota they helped alot threw this whole season so it’s plenty of people I gotta thank for this one.

Question: “What does it mean to be part of this organization, part of this title right now, you came in mid-season, this team has been completely dominant, Dave Rodgers off course watching you right now, what does it mean for you Joey?”

Joey Logano’s Answer:

It’s awesome, like I said before, they work so hard back at the shop, you know we are always the last one’s to go home at night, working on these cars, making a ton of laps in practice, doing what we gotta do to make these things as good as we can and I am glad it paid off, but it gotta a little closer than I wanted it to but you know that’s just awesome for these guys, those guys really deserve it. I only drove half the season.
