Qualifying Results

Today Joey Logano was able to grab the first position, making it his fourth career Nationwide Series Pole position, and his first pole of the 2009 season.

After Joey Logano made his qualifying run, he spoke with Krista Voda, here is a recap of the conversation the two had.

Krista Voda: Here with Joey Logano, the first thing he said to me as he got out of the car, I was breathing hard, so walks us threw that lap, how hard?
Joey Logano: Breathing hard enough that I was hanging on pretty much, but I tell ya what I got a good GameStop Toyota, we practiced good I didn’t think we were going to have a good qualifying car, but apparently it was pretty good, so we’ll see I am excited to race here, you know this is our one year anniversary so far so good, I am looking forward to it.

After all the cars had qualified and receiving the official word that Joey Logano was the pole winner, he was interviewed by Dick Berggren.

Dick Berggren: It was just a few short years ago, where here at Dover that Mark Martin announced that he was going to scale back sprint cup racing and run partial schedules, and in the media center, I asked him who would you put in the car? And Mark said Joey Logano, And the media looked at each other and said whose Joey Logano? They know now. How about this deal Pole at Dover.

Joey Logano: This is cool, it is the first I ever won anything here, I ran the Camping World East Series races here and I never won a thing so I am pretty excited! I got a really GameStop Toyota, and I am just looking forward to racing this thing, this is cool to get a pole for these guys, they work real hard, you know I’ve got one of the hardest working teams in the nationwide garage and in the cup garage, I’ve got some really good hard working guys, and you know it’s cool to get them a pole, and hopefully we get them a win today.

Shannon Spake: What a great way to start your second year in NASCAR, you’re very first of the season, well lets switch and fast forward to the race, now what’s going to be the biggest obstacle you’re going to have to overcome to get that car to victory lane today?

Joey Logano: There’s always obstacles at the monster, I tell ya this place is the toughest race track I think we go to, this place is a beast, so well see, the GameStop Toyota was really good in practice, was one of the best cars I think I’ve ever had, and as long as it drives as good then, I think well have a really good shot at winning this thing. So if we stay out front and have some good stops, and be there at the end and see what we can do.
