Pre-Qualifying Comments

Dick Berggren: In his third career start here at Talladega in the third division that hes ever run, you’ve run trucks here, Arca here, did a good job finished second in that, How Comfortable are you racing at this place with this little experience?

Joey Logano: This place is so different than Daytona really, I mean here especially qualifying, the car is not doing anything even in the draft the cars are real stable which makes a bigger pack out there when were drafting so it’s more of a chess game, it takes more time to get used to it, you know what you are going to need in a race car, as far as how good it sucks up all that. I talked to Kyle a little bit yesterday and said How much should these nationwide cars suck up to the other one, what’s a good car, like I don’t really have anything good to compare it off so you know kind of bounced some ideas of him and see what he says, and it’s just more of a chess game because handling doesn’t come in as much.

Dick Berggren: And very recently he took a ride around the Darlington Speedway with the master of Darlington Speedway Cale Yarborough, what was it like to be in a race car, it was a 2 seater, what was it like to be in a 2 seater with him?

Joey Logano: It’s awesome, I tell ya he comes out in his old school uniform, you know the old one’s, it was awesome really, I was sitting in the car, and hes driving me around, I look over and I’m like that’s Cale Yarborough right there, driving me around Darlington, you know one of the coolest tracks and it’s awesome, I mean really how many people can say they went around Darlington with Cale Yarborough driving em around in a race car, you know that was awesome, it was really neat.

Dick Berggren: He’s ordinarily very tight with the best, doesn’t share any secrets, did you get some secrets out of him?

Joey Logano: He gave me a couple of little things about the track, and some things I’ll try when I go back there hopefully it’ll work.

Joey Logano: It was wild believe me, it was alot of fun, to bring old David to his first victory, we’ve been friends forever running legends cars back in Georgia, and to push him to his first nationwide Victory was cool. Obviously I’d like to be in victory lane with the GameStop Toyota, but I tell ya that was exciting last 15 laps it was out of control, I couldn’t believe it, I come over the radio and was like this is nuts out here. And I feel like I learned alot out today, I want to apologize to Michael Waltrip, I didn’t meant to get into the back of him there, I mean we’ve tried to bump draft out there, in the cup cars it works threw the corners a little bit better, and the bumpers are round on here so, learned my lesson on that one, but I tell ya the guys did awesome, you know Dave Rodgers and the gang worked on this car all day, we overheated a little bit in the beginning, we were able to fix that and every done a great job.
