Two Toyota NASCAR drivers are scheduled to attend the Toyota Motorsports Festival 2010 at Fuji Speedway in Japan on Nov. 28. Camry Sprint Cup Series drivers Joey Logano and David Reutimann will also participate in demonstration laps as part of their visit.

NASCAR, the National Association for Stock Car Automobile Racing, is the number one form of auto racing in the United States. Race cars are designed after production cars, including the Toyota Camry. NASCAR drivers compete almost every weekend from February through November at tracks throughout the United States.

Toyota began its participation in NASCAR by competing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) in 2004 with the Tundra, making Toyota the first Japanese automaker to field a NASCAR entry. In 2006, Toyota captured the first of four consecutive manufacturer’s championships (2006 - 2009) and its first driver’s championship with Todd Bodine. In 2007, Toyota joined the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) and NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) with the best-selling car the Camry. In March 2008, Toyota driver Kyle Busch earned the first Sprint Cup Series victory for Toyota at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Reutimann drives for the Michael Waltrip Racing team and Logano competes for the Joe Gibbs Racing team. Both American drivers will showcase replica NASCAR race cars in demonstration laps at the Fuji Speedway track during the Toyota Motorsports Festival 2010.

Reutimann, a 40-year-old Florida-native, started his NASCAR career in the Camping World Truck Series during the 2004 season, the same year Toyota entered the series. Between 2004 and 2006, he collected one win, 17 top-five finishes, 38 top-10 results and six pole positions in the Truck Series, before moving to the Sprint Cup Series with Michael Waltrip Racing and Toyota in 2007. Reutimann is one of only two drivers to have earned victories behind the wheel of a Toyota in the NSCS (Charlotte 2009 and Chicagoland 2010), NNS (Memphis 2007) and NCWTS (Nashville 2005). He also has the most NASCAR starts in a Toyota (322) across all three series, and is currently 18th in the Sprint Cup Series driver standings.

Logano, a 20-year-old driver from Connecticut, joined the Nationwide Series in 2008, just one week after turning 18 and quickly started setting records. He established a NASCAR mark for the youngest driver (18 years and 21 days) to earn his first victory in the Nationwide Series, accomplishing that feat in just his third race. Logano set another record when he won his first Sprint Cup Series race in June 2009 at New Hampshire, becoming the youngest driver to win in the series (19 years and 35 days). Since joining NASCAR, Logano has one win in the NSCS and eight NNS victories. He was the 2009 Sprint Cup Series Rookie-of-the-Year and is currently 20th in the NSCS driver standings.

Wouldn't Joey be able to drink in Japan though? I don't know their age limits but I believe USA has the highest for drinking age and some providences (sp?) in Canada.

Drinking age in Japan is 20 so technically yes.
