September Fan of the Month
Every month we put a Joey Logano Fan in the spotlight. This month’s fan of the month is rawrgoeskayla a member of our Joey Logano Forum. She answers some questions for us.
Whats your name?
Kayla.
So tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was born and raised (well still being raised hehe :]) in the same town in Connecticut and have watched it go from small little place to one of the biggest towns in the state. I have red hair and don’t like it when people tell me I have no soul as gingers are said to be. I am starting my senior year of high school and am really into sports. I manage the football team, run track, throw shot put, and play softball. I also enjoy watching a wide variety of sports too from baseball to MMA. And of course comes NASCAR which I have been a fan of for over ten years. I tend to write a lot too when I get going on a topic.
How did you get into NASCAR?
I got into NASCAR when I was about 5 or 6 years old. My parents were really into it and decided I was old enough to take me to my first race. That race ended up being Pocono and I fell in love with the sport. I loved the smell of gasoline and the track and the speed amazed me. Of course I didn’t understand much of it at the time but I couldn’t get enough of it. Ever since that day, I try to watch the whole weekends worth from Friday to Sunday or get to a few races myself. So far I’ve been to NHMS, Dover, Richmond, Pocono, Daytona and I’ve seen Las Vegas.
Have you met Joey, and how did it go?
I have not met Joey but he is coming back to his home town, Middletown, September 17th and I plan on being there since it’s about a half hour from where I live.
How did you become a fan of Joey Logano?
I heard of Joey through the Nationwide Series then ended up seeing him race in the 96 at NHMS. I followed him through Nationwide and learned he was going to be a member of the Joe Gibbs team. I was already a Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch fan and decided to give him a shot figuring it couldn’t hurt, and now hes moved to the top of the favorite list after proving he could handle the big leagues.
Out of all the racetracks you’ve been to, which is your favorite track and why?
I’d have to say my favorite is Richmond. I love the short track night racing, its much more exciting. The race is always going to come down to the final laps and anything can happen on short tracks. It’s so competetive. It’s nice because you can see all the way around the track easily so you don’t miss a thing.
Thanks for the interview Kayla!
