Every month we put a Joey Logano Fan in the spotlight from the forum. If you would like to become a fan of the month as well, all you have to do is be an active member of the forum. The October 2010 fan of the month is Vermont#1Fan. She answers some questions for us.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Gail, I live in Stowe,Vermont the Ski Capital of the East. It is home to the Von Trapp family of “Sound of Music” fame. I’ve been married for many years, have one grown son and two grandchildren. My interests are books, movies, volunteering at library and Historical Society. I still work very part-time, play baritone horn in community band and make oriental area rugs. This is a hand-held craft and I also teach it. We spend time in Sebastian, Florida and also love Cape Cod and Maine.

What is your favorite food and drink?

Favorite foods are many but Pizza, pasta and anything Italian would be #1 Favorite drinks would be coffee, diet Pepsi and Martinis with Olive for Happy Hour…….

How did you get into NASCAR?

My husband won a complete trip package for Daytona 500 this year from local radio station WDEV owned by Ken Squier. Ken is still very involved in NASCAR etc. and owns a short track here in Vermont called Thunder Road. The trip was awesome and included air fare, hotel, bus, tickets and pit passes and the 500 Club. We spent both days in the infield and the 500 Club. Gourmet food and open bar all day long. We sat just above the start line right in front of pit road in window seats.

How did you become a fan of Joey Logano?

I knew zilch about racing but I liked the #20 as he was from Connecticut where I was born. Joey was Italian, like me and Rookie of the Year plus I liked the colors of his car. Not very scientific but I have been hooked ever since.

What’s your favorite race track?

Too new to racing to have a favorite track, we went to New Hampshire in June and that was great but I can’t imagine anything could beat Daytona.

Have you met Joey Logano, and how did it go?

Have not met Joey but we will be near Homestead in November, so if we get to go, who knows????? We did see the following people at the 500 Club at various times of the day during meals…Sarah Palin, Michael Strahan, Jim Belushi, Tim McGraw(we saw his concert), Todd Eldridge and Harry Connick,Jr.

Do you have any other favorite drivers besides Joey?

I like Brad Keselowski at times, and I have to give credit to Kyle Busch and would root for Denny Hamlin if Joey was out of the picture. I am still learning all the ins and outs so am pretty fickle but Joey will always be #1
