Whats your name?

Kathy Scott

Where are you from?

Hope Mills, NC

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am a registered nurse at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville NC. I work in the Spinal Cord Injury Unit. I love my patients. My stepson was my inspiration to work with paralyzed patients. He has been a para since he was 13, and now in his forties, he is completely independent. He is now flying ultralite planes. If Joey ever wants to go up in one it would be an inspiration to a lot of people. Anyway, other than my job I love all animals and have rehabilitated a few. My favorite was a squirrel named Molly. She lived 12 years. I also like to read and play the piano. Last, but not least, I love my family. My twins (a girl and boy) are 36 years old. I have 4 grandchildren, ages 18, 9, and twins 4. It’s sad they live near Chicago and don’t get to see them very often. My husband is also a Joey fan. I think it is great that Joey is involved with the parapalegic bobsledders.

What is your favorite food and drink?

Ribeye steak with baked potato, asparagus and all that smothered in bearnaise sauce. Then a glass of Merlot and black coffee.

How did you get into NASCAR?

As a child I would sit with my dad and listen to the race on the radio. It was Richard Petty all the way! I was raised mopar. Waited 23 years to get my dream car – a ’73 Plymouth Cuda, red and of course it has flowmasters. I also have two older brothers that just added fuel to the flame! Being raised on a farm, I learned to drive sitting on the gearbox of a Farmall 140 tractor.

How did you become a fan of Joey Logano?

The first time I saw and read about him was when his picture was in the paper just before his first cup race. That picture caught my eye because at that time he looked so much like my 18 year old grandson.

I started reading everything I could about him. I like Mark Martin and respect him as one of the greats. If Mark said “he is the real deal” and “the next best thing than sliced bread” I believed him. I believe Joey has what it takes to be a great driver and he has a beautiful smile and personality. He does good things for other people.

What’s your favorite race track?

I love Darlington. It’s a challenge to the drivers, plus it’s closest to my home. I actually attended 2 races there with my brothers. One of those was when Jeff Burton tried to take Jeff out on the last lap, but Jeff held on and took that million dollar bonus. I like the shorter tracks.

Have you met Joey Logano, and how did it go?

No, unfortunately, but if I ever do, it will be one of the biggest honors of my life! I would probably be speechless!

Do you have any other favorite drivers besides Joey?

I saw potential in Jeff Gordan and followed him for a few years. I have a lot of respect for him. Then Mark Martin, Bill Elliott, and of course The King. I like the old days when Rusty, Dale Jarrett, Earnhardt, the Labontes went at it. Too many to name.

Thanks for the interview Kathy!

Whats your name?

Nicholas Gomes

Where are you from?

I live in West Springfield, MA.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am an avid racing fan and have been since I was first introduced when I was a little kid. I am currently still a teenager so right now my life is really busy. I am wanting to pursue a career in engineering and am hopeful I can someday be involved in NASCAR somehow. I plan on applying to the University of North Carolina within the next few years, most likely at the Charlotte location so I can explore the sport even greater.

What is your favorite food and drink?

My favorite food has to be pizza, any kind, anywhere. My favorite drink is probably Gatorade.

How did you get into NASCAR?

My father and I used to watch races when I was little kid and I’ve been hooked ever since.

How did you become a fan of Joey Logano?

I was always a Jeff Gordon fan and now that he is getting older I realize that eventually I will have to follow another driver someday. I kept hearing about this young kid named Joey Logano tearing up the East Series back in 2007 and I found myself checking into him more and more often and seeing him constantly winning races. I never stopped following him through his journey through NASCAR and am still a huge fan to this day no matter what.

What’s your favorite race track?

New Hampshire Motor Speedway! No doubt. I witnessed my very first race there in 2003 and have been going annually still to this day with my father. Mainly because it’s about a three hour drive from my home and the closest track we have in the northeast.

Have you met Joey Logano, and how did it go?

Yes, back in 2008. It was a few months before he even made his first Nationwide Series start. He and a few other local racers had an autograph session in my hometown for an auto show. I knew someday he would make it big so I had to go and meet him. He was a really cool guy and seemed to have a nice personality. Not that many people had approached him however because he didn’t have a big reputation so it made me kinda laugh.

Do you have any other favorite drivers besides Joey?

I have always been a Jeff Gordon fan since I was a little kid and still am. I tend to root for the underdogs and love seeing new faces in victory lane.

Thanks for the interview Nicholas!

Where are you from?

I live in Brasilia, capital of Brazil.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Brazilian, 30 years old, single, Creative Director on an Ad Agency and fan of motorsports.

Like many Brazilians, I’m fan of some legendary drivers like Ayrton Senna, Nelson Piquet and Emerson Fittipaldi. Once I had no chance to have a real life motorsports career as a driver or something else, I found a way to let this passion grow on Sim Racing.

Nowadays I have a part time job, if I can call it a job, as manager of a virtual racing league called “Liga IVR” where some of most valuable virtual Brazilian drivers show their skills on road and oval competitions using iRacing Simulator.

What is your favorite food and drink?

I love any sort of junk food. Basically if it comes with bacon and chips I eat. :D
And for drink theres always a place for a good and cold beer.

How did you get into NASCAR?

Like many others from Brazil, I used to not pay much attention to Nascar and when I really discovered it was love at… second sight. Thanks to a friend that opened my eyes to Nascar races.

How did you become a fan of Joey Logano?

After some time learning more about Nascar, Logano took my attention showing great skills against all those old mad dogs over there.

What’s your favorite race track?

Dover, The Monster Mile!

Have you met Joey Logano, and how did it go?

No and actually I’ve never been on a Nascar track. I’m making plans to visit USA this year, pay a visit to a Nascar Race and try to meet Logano.

Do you have any other favorite drivers besides Joey?

Miguel Paludo, another brazilian that is showing his skills at its best. And watching closely for Pietro Fittipaldi that is starting his career on Wheelen All American Series.

Thanks for the interview Jota!

June 2011 Fan of the Month

Every month GoJoeyLogano.com puts a Joey Logano Fan in the spotlight from the forum. If you would like to become a fan of the month as well, all you have to do is be an active member of the forum. The June 2011 fan of the month is Pugger21. She answers some questions for us.

Whats your name?

Autumn Booth

Where are you from?

Ripplemead, VA

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am 19 years old about to be 20 June 22nd. I just graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Political Science with Legal Studies Option. I am not sure what I am going to do with my degree yet since I am so young. I may go back and get a degree in history. I am an avid sports fan. My life revolves around sports but nothing compares to my new found love in NASCAR! My boyfriend thinks I am obsessed. I have three crazy hyper pugs, all named after sports figures. I have a pug girl named Candace (Pugger) named after Candace Parker, my favorite women’s basketball player, in which they have been introduced before through twitter (you can follow me @Pugger21, majority of my tweets consist of Joey madness). I have a pug boy named Casey (Samuel) after Casey Mears (Samuel because Casey’s daughter Samantha) and last but not least, I have a puppy pug girl named Charlotte because that is where Casey got his first win in the Sprint Cup. Charlotte’s name was a hard choice, we wanted to name her after a NASCAR track because she is jet black, our choices were Charlotte or Darla after Darlington because she is the lady in black. But we decided on Charlotte because of Casey. As anyone could tell I treat my pugs like my kids and think the world of them. I have played piano since age 5 and am obsessed with roller coasters. I LOVE DINOSAURS and LIONS! Some of my favorite sport’s teams include: the Kansas City Royals (because Sluggerrr the Lion mascot) , the Los Angeles Sparks (Candace Parker), Toronto Raptors (Dinosaurs), Detroit Lions (Lions), All Virginia Tech sports (my school) and the Lady Vols of Tennessee. I also enjoy cooking, playing XBox 360 and traveling.

What is your favorite food and drink?

I have a lot of foods I love but like my boyfriend says “You can live on just Pizza” or “If you are what you eat, you would be a Pizza.” So I guess it’s pizza. As far as drink…I would say Lemonade but I drink a lot of variety from Milk to Juices.

How did you get into NASCAR?

This is a long story but I will try to make it short and sweet. My grandpa was a major NASCAR fan. He loved the King and Jeff Gordon and after church on Sundays, him and I would watch the race curled up on the couch. But once his health turned for the worse and he passed away, I stopped watching. Then I met my boyfriend and in early 2009 I was reintroduced to the sport. I did not really have a favorite driver then so I cheered for my boyfriends favorite driver (at the time) in Casey Mears (hence my pugs name). I went to my first race in October of 2009 in Martinsville and fell in love. Now all I ever talk about is NASCAR and my family thinks I am crazy.

How did you become a fan of Joey Logano?

I became fond of Joey from the start because he was around my age and I felt connected with him. Once Casey Mears lost his ride at the time, my boyfriend and I decided it was time to follow new drivers. I became a huge Joey fan and have never swayed from it. We both still follow Casey to this day though.

What’s your favorite race track?

I have so many I like: Charlotte, Dover, Bristol and Kentucky. But my favorite is probably Dover mainly do to Miles the Monster. null

Have you met Joey Logano, and how did it go?

I have saw Joey multiple times and could have probably talked to him but I am not much for crowds of people swarming. I actually get really annoyed because majority of the people wanting his autograph and such are not even fans of his, like me who just want to meet him because he is my favorite, not just because he is a NASCAR driver. So I just laid low and just took pictures. If I would have talked to him I probably would have freaked and he would think I was crazy.

Do you have any other favorite drivers besides Joey?

Casey Mears as you know the story. I do not have any other favorite drivers but there are many I do not like. I do not like anyone who messes with Joey. After Kevin Harvick wrecked Joey at Pocono, I have hated him since. I won a Kevin Harvick car out of claw machine before the incident and kept it since it was a NASCAR car but once he did that to Joey, I “disposed” of it. I guess I do have to include Brad Keselowski in here as a favorite though because he is my boyfriend’s favorite and him and Joey seem to be friends. But anytime he does something to Joey I do not approve of, it is all out war in my house. null

Thank you for the interview Autumn!

May 2011 Fan of the Month

Every month GoJoeyLogano.com puts a Joey Logano Fan in the spotlight from the forum. If you would like to become a fan of the month as well, all you have to do is be an active member of the forum. The May 2011 fan of the month is kryan11. He answers some questions for us.

Whats your name?

Kelley Ryan

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Well my family has been around NASCAR all my life, but I haven’t become a die hard NASCAR fan til about the last 6 years. I love watching the races, racing, setting up race cars, pr, marketing, just everything about NASCAR. One day I hope to be working in some part of NASCAR, anything to get myself to the track every week. Outside of racing I love to snowboard whenever I can.

Where you from?

Phoenix, AZ

What is your favorite food and drink?

Iced Tea is my favorite drink. I will say that Coke is a million times better then Pepsi, no comparison haha. Favorite food, I would say sushi.

How did you get into NASCAR?

I’ve been racing since i was 8, whether it be on sims, go karts, modlites etc. I got into NASCAR just watching it with my dad. I had a ball watching Tony Stewart win and climb the fence back in the day, then when Denny Hamlin came along I really started watching him and it was real exciting to watch him come up.

How did you become a fan of Joey Logano?

I heard about Joey long before he ever made it onto the big screen in NASCAR. I had a friend telling me about him in his legends days and he told me he was going to be the next big thing. I’ve been following him ever since.

What’s your favorite race track?

Martinsville would be my favorite track. I love racing on that track on the sims and watching Joey and Denny dominate on it. It requires alot of discipline and the good drivers will really shine there.

Have you met Joey Logano, and how did it go?

No unfortunately, I haven’t got to meet him yet. I’m dieing to though. I did get a chance to meet Denny Hamlin, and I would say when I meet Joey it will be about the same experience. I won’t have a clue what to say, just in shock that I’m meeting him haha.

Do you have any other favorite drivers besides Joey?

Denny Hamlin :) Kyle was one of my favorite drivers too, but his rivalry with Denny lately has been getting annoying haha.

Thanks for the interview Kelley!
