With his eighth place finish at Phoenix, Joey Logano has finished on the lead lap for the twenty-first consecutive race, tying him with Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. for the most consecutive lead lap finishes. Logano has not finished off of the lead lap since the Morgan Shepherd incident at New Hampshire in July. If he were to finish on the lead lap in Fontana, he would become the sole holder of this record.

That being said, as long as nothing on the car fails, it would be a safe bet that he breaks the record. Big Grin
Never knew this! Wow, quite the record
Its funny how Joey lost his Gibbs ride to Matt Kenseth, a driver known for his consistency and Now Joey himself i would say is kind of like the New Matt Kenseth in a way and that proves it.
And soon enough Joey will have more career wins than Matt in Cup. Thank you Mr Penske and Shell/Pennzoil for giving our boy his ride. Going to be a lifer here
Wow, he's already back at 17 lead lap finishes in a row. If he can survive all the races, he can set the record twice this year.
With the win at Talladega, Logano now owns the top two consecutive lead lap finish streaks. If he can make it until after Phoenix, he will break his own record of 24.
