Talladega Testing

Joey Logano who earlier this year was victorious in an ARCA Remax race, at Rockingham speedway, just recently finished testing at Talladega Superspeedway in preparation for a first time race at Talladega on October 3rd, 2008.

One of the reasons for Logano to run in the ARCA race, is so that he can gain experience in plate racing, and the even bigger reason is that he needs to be approved by NASCAR, before he makes his first plate race in the Sprint cup series in Daytona 500 February race. Thus if he races in the ARCA race, he has a chance to get the stamp of approval by NASCAR. The approval process is something normal, and something all rookie drivers are required to get.

The first test session began on Wednesday, the tests were part of a two-day ARCA RE/MAX series open test session at Talladega.

The test session itself drew at least twenty drivers who were eager to test different setups, from qualifying, to race setups, in preparation for the upcoming ARCA race scheduled to be run on October 3rd, 2008.

Logano was at Talladega participating in the two-day ARCA Series test session that drew more than 20 drivers for a chance to try out setups for the Oct. 3 ARCA Re/Max 250 race.

Joey has been enjoying his test sessions at Talladega, and he has said that he has had a good time so far with the ARCA cars at Talladega.

You can watch the race on Speed TV, starting at 5pm Eastern time on Friday October 3rd, 2008.
