Michigan lifelock 400 Race Talk
I don't want to step on any toes but starting a race thread but i have a soft spot for the MIS races having been to three races there in a row (2006,2007 & 2008) We always had a great time there even in the rain infested 2007 races which left most of us in the Mud. I saw my very first Nascar race in 2006 at Michigan which was one by Matt Kenseth and it was until this year (Martinsville) the only track i had been too. Often compared to other"cookie cutter" tracks Michigan is a favorite for most drivers for it's multiple grooves and fast action. The new double file re start rule will be great to see on this track, i can't wait!
Jean you can go ahead and highlight the heading in blue, make it look all fancy or whatever, like i said i won't be starting any of these topics but the Michigan race is big for me.

25th at Michigan in a JGR Toyota?
What happened?
I had my Daughter's birthday to deal with today,
So I didn't see the whole race, But this team and driver
shouldn't be finishing 25th.

I didn't watch the full race yet, I only caught the last 80 laps, but I am guessing it might of had to do with this video.... I will be watching the race later today, since I set it to record to watch later.

But I just checked for you and they do have a replay on Speed TV on Wednesday at Noon Eastern time. Big Grin

RE: Michigan lifelock 400 Race Talk
Maybe. But why can they not get their cars to be fast and handle great at the start of races, so they don't fall back to the back of the field and than get themselves in trouble? This happens every week and what it does is put a rookie driver already laps down trying to fight just to get the lap back and when they do the race is almost over.

Honestly, I believe Gibbs Should Put Joey with Dave Rogers. Joey and Dave work perfectly Together. Their communication in the NWS is perfect, The way they work together reminds me a little of Jimmie and Chad.

If Joey and Dave were in Cup Together, you'd see a whole different story, Trust me.

RE: Michigan lifelock 400 Race Talk
The tire was rubbing and they were slow after the sandwich contact from the video above which set them back. The actually got the car to where it was pretty good but never could catch a break when it came to the free pass. The end team 20 had to save fuel so Joey had to ease off the gas and let it float through the corner so that they didn't run out and finish worse then they did. Had he been able to get back on the lead lap he could have been a top 15 car, circumstances wouldn't allow that.

RE: Michigan lifelock 400 Race Talk
Thanks for the update. My Daughter's 18th birthday party was Sunday, SO I only saw parts of
the race.

What would really help Joey though is to get this car great at the start of the race and qualify a little
better, so if an accident happens than he atleast has a chance to stay on the lead lap longer. that
would help get some better finishes even on a not so good day.

RE: Michigan lifelock 400 Race Talk
The problem with getting the car better at the start of the race has to do with Joey's experience on the each track or lack there of. It takes him a while to feel things out and figure out the lines before he's able to know what he wants which is why often the 2nd half of the race is better then the first.
