Chasing Kyle
The season has three races left. Kyle Busch had 3753 points at the end of the 2005 season. Joey has 3494 points with three races to go. They will have both run 36 races. Joey needs 259 points to tie Kyle. Joey needs to a average 86.3 points over the next 3 races to tie or finish 25th or better the next 3 races.

25th place = 88 points
26th place = 85 points.

RE: Chasing Kyle
I can see Joey beating this. I beliieve the next 3 races are going to be good for Joey and this team and build momentum for next year.

Hopefully they put him in more Nationwide races next year. He really deserves it and has shown he is capable of handling the pressure.

RE: Chasing Kyle
Joey will be in pretty much the same amount of Nationwide races next year, maybe a few less because they want to get Matt D in a few more.

RE: Chasing Kyle
Yes he did, Kyle finished the 2005 season with 3753 Joey finished with 3791. They both finished 20th in the standings. Now if he can match Kyle this year then why not match Kyles second year if he does that he should get a spot in the chase.

If Joey can match Kyle next season, he will have to make the chase.

If Joey was able to wheel a COT competitively around a road course as hard as Infineon, I have no doubt he has the talent to make the chase.

RE: Chasing Kyle
I think Joey will be up there to try to make it in to the chase. Not as easy when Kyle started off as a rookie he was able to test, And the COT is alot more harder to drive most teams still have not even figure it out inless your 3 of 1 of the Hendrick boys Undecided

RE: Chasing Kyle
True. He's going to contend for wins next year. No doubt aobut it. He just has to get used to the COT. He's said it himself, "It's a different beast from what I've ever driven before."

RE: Chasing Kyle
I think Joey is going to compete for a chase spot. It is going to be tough because there is so many great drivers but Joey made big strides this year and now with he and Zippy having a year underneath their belts together, notes and Joey knowing the tracks they will be much better getting to the track each and every week. I am looking forward to the season. My prediciton will come later once i go through my algorythem LOL

RE: Chasing Kyle
When Joey came into the series i predicted a 3 to 4 years before we saw his full potential. I'm still sticking by that. I think he will win 2 races this season and get 1 maybe 2 poles and hopefully claim a spot in the chase if not then a soild top 15 will do. Next season 2011 will be the break out season where Joey really finds his way and from that point on it will be like Jimmie and Jeff.

RE: Chasing Kyle
No doubt in year 3 he will be extremely tough. I think he and Ambrose will be the big surprises in 2010
